Description

**Stand and Pillow Sold Separately.**

Not all that long ago, a bright-hued rope hammock was a color gamble you just weren’t going to win. A few months of intense sun and heavy rain, and all that vibrant pigment was already beginning its inevitable fade.

Yet this happy-color story need no longer have a sad, drab ending. Our DuraCord® Technology rope is solution-dyed, with the rich color blended right into the synthetic rope’s thread fibers even as they’re being made — so the color stays in, not washes out.

The most fade-resistant rope fiber available, DuraCord® Technology is nonetheless surprisingly soft, promising all the cottony comfort that’s always been the hallmark of a Pawleys Island® Hammock, but with an extreme weatherability never before possible. Expressly designed to be weather-tough, DuraCord® Technology is also resistant to abrasion, staining, rot, mold and mildew, with the rope itself precision-wound to exceed even U.S. military specifications for strength.

Hammock spreader bars are solid Southern white oak that’s been hand-dipped multiple times in marine-quality varnish, to heighten the handsome hardwood’s natural honey-gold hue. Hanging hardware, including chains, is galvanized steel, for a further boost in strength, and for heightened rust protection.

As weather-tough as a Pawleys Island® Hammock is, we still strongly suggest storing it in an enclosed dry place away from harsh chemicals and foraging wildlife when the hammock is going unused, or during lengthy stretches of bad weather, to help prolong the product’s useful life.

Note: Don’t worry if your own Original Pawleys Island® Rope Hammock at first seems a little shorter than its advertised length; your hammock will soon reach its full length through natural stretching from initial use.
