Description

Family time in front of the TV again? Well, maybe not once you own one of our Admiral Rope Hammocks!

At a full 5 feet 5 inches wide, and roughly 13½-14 feet long from O-ring to O-ring, this ample hammock permits piling the gang all in during the cool-down hours at the end of the day, to talk and sway the evening away.

You can count on us to keep you and yours aloft: At Nags Head Hammocks, we hand-weave our rope products using almost twice the rope as other companies do, finishing things off with some of the heaviest hanging hardware in the business — our Admiral Rope Hammock will hold up to 450 pounds! And with its kiln-dried Southern white oak spreader bars still lightly bent the traditional way, and then repeatedly hand-dipped in marine-grade spar varnish, our plus-sized hammock will look great doing it!

One little warning: Don’t be surprised on summer nights to find a gaggle of neighborhood kids in this hammock, once word gets out that you have it. A great, big hammock is a guaranteed kid magnet.

Our Admiral Rope Hammock comes in your choice of two synthetic-rope styles, soft-spun polyester and DuraCord® Technology, both made for prolonged weather exposure, and resistant to rot, mold and mildew, though with a softness to rival cotton. DuraCord® Technology has the added distinction of being exceptionally resistant to abrasion, staining and fading — in fact, there’s no more colorfast rope on the market today.

Hanging chains and hardware are galvanized steel, for added support and superior rust protection.

Despite the advanced weatherability of a Nags Head Hammock, we do always recommend storing it in an enclosed dry place away from harsh chemicals and foraging wildlife during prolonged bad weather and other protracted periods when it’s going unused, to ensure its longest possible life.

Note: Your own rope hammock may at first appear slightly shorter than the advertised length, but will reach its full length after its ropes naturally stretch through initial use.
